and I'm not really sure why. It's been almost two weeks since I got back from the beach, and I've been keeping somewhat busy. Only this weekend have I really had time to lounge around and do nothing.
The week I got back from the beach, we locked ourselves in a room downstairs at work and plugged away at our first week of Partner Center development. It's a big project, and I'm responsible for the portion that serve as a public-facing catalog of all partners that can be searched and browsed by region. The searching portion should be fun for our team because we'll be using a Google Search Appliance for indexing and searching the database and partner-related documents.
This week I worked, then on Friday night I went contra dancing over in Carrboro. It was a unique experience -- think dozens of sweaty middle-aged hippies -- but I definitely enjoyed it.
This week we're working all week in seclusion again, and on Friday night I'm flying to DC for a training course. I've wanted to get some formal business analyst training, and I asked my boss if I could attend a course being offered in DC on the 18th and 19th. So I'm going up this next Friday night and staying in the hotel on my expense on Friday and Saturday nights, then the course is the following Monday and Tuesday. I'll fly back on Tuesday night. The weekend should be fun and the course should be educational.
